Gulzar group of Institutes organised Eight days survey camp at Dalhousie. Many civil engineering Students joined the camp. The main objective was to provide knowledge to the students about the various survey equipment’s used to measure distance, angles, bearings, contours of any plane and hilly site. Activities like sea level, site checking of roads, levelling, topography mapping were also explained. It was a very successful training camp as a learning exposure for the students under the guidance of the faculty co-ordinators.

The students were informed about various experiments to be performed during and different requirement for measurements to be used. Subsequently, Students were divided into 10 groups to begin their practical work and they also noted down the various measurements at various stations allotted at the site .The survey camp ended with compiling the measurement readings into drawing sheets displaying contours, Reduce Level’s, angles and distance.

While encouraging the students Gurkirat singh, Executive director of GGI Said that such camps make students aware about the ecological or environmental survey that may verify or provide more in depth information to the students.
