New Delhi 11 June, 2026 A commercial oil tanker carrying Indian crew members was involved in a maritime incident near Oman’s Shinas port on Thursday. The vessel, identified as Jalveer, is the third Indian-crewed tanker reportedly affected during the ongoing tensions between the United States and Iran in the Gulf region. According to initial reports, all crew members onboard are safe. The Indian Embassy in Oman is coordinating with local authorities to gather details and monitor the situation. The incident follows two earlier attacks involving Indian-crewed vessels this week. In one case, three Indian sailors lost their lives after a tanker was struck during military operations in the Gulf of Oman. Another tanker carrying Indian crew members was also targeted, but all personnel were rescued safely. India has strongly condemned attacks on commercial shipping and called for immediate de-escalation of the conflict. The Ministry of External Affairs emphasized that the safety of Indian nationals remains a top priority and urged all parties to ensure the free and secure movement of ships through international waterways. Omani authorities and Indian officials continue to closely monitor the latest incident.
