Ludhiana, May 30

Expenditure Observer for Ludhiana Parliamentary constituency Pankaj Kumar inspected the late night nakas by Static Surveillance Teams (SST) in various areas of the city on Wednesday. 

 The inspection of SST nakas was conducted at Arora Palace, Dana Mandi, Tajpur road, Nirmal palace and Quality Chowk. 

.Expenditure observer Pankaj Kumar said that the SSTs had been tasked to check all small and big vehicles to keep vigil on the movement of cash, liquor, contrabands or any other things which could be used for inducing/influencing the voters.

 These teams were headed by officers with executive magisterial powers and included police officers and videographers to record their activities on a daily basis. The SSTs had been asked to intensify checking in collaboration with excise officials, CAPF and Flying Squad Teams (FST).

Nine static surveillance teams (SST) had been deputed in each assembly constituency of Ludhiana and these teams were responsible for strict implementation of the Model Code of Conduct.
