Ludhiana: April 24 (Democratic Teachers Front) In the situation of protest and tension regarding the long-pending demands of teachers, a meaningful turn came when on a special invitation given by DEO (Elementary) Ms. Lalita Arora, a delegation of the organization DTF, under the leadership of Daljit Singh Samrala, District President met with the DEO Primary and Secondary. Strongly objecting to the ongoing investigations on anonymous complaints against teachers the leaders told the education official that on one hand the precious time of investigating education officials is wasted; on said anonymous complaints, on the other hand unethical there are efforts to spoil the image of hardworking teachers. The leaders demanded the implementation of a rational letter already issued by the education department regarding the disposal of anonymous complaints in Ludhiana. Mrs. Arora agreed to this and assured to send the concerned letter to the block education offices immediately. Along with this, regarding the investigation against BPEO Indu Sood, Mrs. Arora said that the copy of the report of this investigation, which in her eyes was completely impartial and pro-people, will be given to the organization within two days. On this occasion, the obstacle in taking ex-India leave of the teachers was removed during the discussion between the delegation and the officials. District Education Officer Mrs. Arora assured the delegation leaders that the long-delayed increment of ETT teacher Gurminder Singh, Gurusar Kaunke would be released within two days. During the meeting of the delegation with the Deputy DEO (Secondary) Mr. Jaswinder Singh, the Officer sought from the office the record of the pending salary of 3704 teachers related to two months of office duty and told the delegation to resolve the issue soon. Later, the delegation leaders met with ADC Major Mr. Amit Sareen for the employee demands related to the elections. Meanwhile, the leaders handed over some other supporting documents to ADC Major Mr. Amit Sareen related to the rules regarding the duty of women teachers in home constituency. ADC Mr. Sareen assured the duty of women teachers will be allocated within their constituency. During the discussion, the demand of the leaders to pay the due remuneration of the employees on election duty in a proper manner and transparently was placed at the table of Mr Sareen. The leaders said that especially the reserve staff should be fully remunerated after the upcoming election duty, with discretion and transparency; In response to which ADC Mr. Sarin said that this time election duty staff will not be given any opportunity to complain about payment of remuneration etc.; If any problem arises, the representatives of the organization should immediately bring it to their notice. Harjit Singh (District General Secretary), Devinder Singh (Senior Vice President), Gurpreet Singh (Organizational Secretary), Gurdeep Singh (Vice President), Rana Alamdeep, Inderpreet Singh, Sandeep Kumar and Manavpreet Pal Singh were present in the delegation.
