NABARD to celebrate National Handloom Day- Omaxe Mall, Patiala

In order to highlight the importance of handloom sector in upkeep of our rich heritage and NABARD-s support to rural artisans for skill upgradation, provision of marketing avenues, etc., NABARD Punjab Regional Office is sponsoring one stall for the artisans of Sangrur Phulkari, a company with rural artisans as the members, to celebrate National Handloom Day, on ground floor of Omaxe Mall, Mall road, Patiala from 13.08.2021 to 16.08.2021. AGM, Clster Head, Patiala, NABARD Smt Parvinder Kaur Nagra informed that during Covid induced lockdown, the artisans could not market their produce, hence NABARD, Punjab RO has facilitated marketing of products of these rural artisans. The exhibition would be open to the public on these days and would be showcasing Phulkari products viz., Baaghs, dupattas, suits bedsheets, cushion covers,etc. She has requested all to visit the stall to purchase Phulkari products directly from the artisans and motivate the rural atisans.
