Ludhiana: 05 July (DTF) Regarding teacher issues the delegation of District Ludhiana Unit of DTF (Punjab) met Deputy District Education Officer Secondary Jaswinder Singh Virk and Deputy District Education Officer Elementary Manoj Kumar under the leadership of District President Daljit Singh Samrala. Regarding the arrears of salary for the initial two months of office duty of 3704 teachers belonging to district Ludhiana, Deputy DEO Mr. Virk said that a letter has been sent to seek guidance from the DPI office in this regard, a copy of which has been presented to the organization. The leaders told the media that this issue will be taken up in the meeting with the DPI on coming Tuesday. The organization demanded that the teachers should be deputed from the schools with surplus posts in the schools where there is a shortage of teachers. Speaking to Deputy DEO (Elementary) Manoj Kumar about spending the entire amount for the month of July regarding mid-day meal, the leaders protested against the misleading message issued by the BPEO offices and said that this action was a conspiracy to corrupt the teachers. In response, Deputy DEO and Mid Day Meal District Coordinator Davinder Kaur said that actually the District Education Office had asked to spend the outstanding amount till the end of May, which has been misrepresented by the BPEO offices; Now the message will be reposted correctly. Union leaders criticized the discretionary orders issued by some BPOs that made teachers responsible for identifying children with special needs and sending verification reports indicating special categories; While this work has to be done by the experts of the health department. On this, the Deputy DEO spoke to the IERT Coordinator of the district and clarified that the teachers will not do this work. They will only tell the block's IERT about the child and they will identify the child's category and record it. In response to the issue of non-availability of ACRs for the year 2022-23 of the teachers of Sidhwan Bet-1 Block, the Deputy DEO said that the office will look at the records of the teachers of all the districts and the remaining ACRs will be prepared by the concerned authorities. The delegation demanded that the salary of sanitation workers be paid on time, the arrears of school electricity bills of thousands of rupees should be released and time should not be wasted anonymous complaints. On this occasion, Deputy DEO promised to send a copy of the letter issued by the DEO office to close the inquiry regarding the anonymous complaint made against Government Primary School Malla (Boys and Girls) to the leaders of the organization via WhatsApp. Regarding the demand of the organization to release the remaining 65 percent of the EDS-79 grants after using 20 percent of the grants, the Deputy District Education Officer said that necessary action will be taken in this regard. On this occasion, District General Secretary Harjit Singh Samtar, Senior Vice President Davinder Singh Sidhu, Organizational Secretary Gurpreet Singh Khanna, Finance Secretary Gurbachan Singh Khanna, Harpinder Singh Shahi, Rajinder Singh Machiwara, Arvinder Singh Bhangu, Bhupinder Singh were present.
